BIOGRAPHY
John Vig serves as the Vice-President, Conferences of the IEEE Sensors Council. Previously he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IEEE, as the founding President of the IEEE Sensors Council, as the President of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society (UFFC-S), as the Vice-President of IEEE Technical Activities, and in many other leadership roles. He has also served as a consultant and expert witness to corporations and government agencies.
His honors include IEEE Life Fellow, Life AdCom member of the IEEE Sensors Council, AdCom Emeritus of UFFC-S, the IEEE Richard M Emberson Award, the Sawyer Award, the Cady Award and many other awards. He has also been awarded 55 US patents. His Ph.D. is in physics.
